Working Synopsis #1

tentative title-Quail Ridge

Juliana Faye is returning to Quail Ridge NH to try to repay old debts. When she was 18 she was the driver in a car accident that killed her boyfriend, Eddie Burgess, and her best friend Kayla Roberts. Though the reasons behind the accident werren't really her fault there isn't enough proof of that and the only other survivor of the accident, Ricky Eklund, pins the whole thing on her. After a lengthy stay in the hospital, Juliana is sentenced to two years in prison for negligent homicide.

After getting out of prison, Juliana becomes an award winning photo journalist and makes a name for herself. She's lived her life with the bare necessities and with as little human ties as possible.

After her mother dies, Juliana comes back to her hometown with the idea of giving back to the community that turned its back on her, maybe to assuage her own guilt. There is an old mill building owned by Eddie's brother, Matt, which is up for rent. Juliana arranges, through a leasing agent, to rent the mill out and open a youth center.

Matt isn't pleased when he finds out who rented the mill, but can't turn her down, everything is legal and her plans would help the town.

Another person not happy to have her back is Ricky who is still afraid that she'll prove that he lied about the circumstances of the accident.

Matt helps Juliana with the center and against his will he begins to care for her, shocked to find out the losses that she went through in the accident. He wants to help heal her and make the towns people understand that she wasn't responsible for the accident.
